Music Man Stingray RS “The Governor” Demo/Review

From the very first announcement of the Stingray guitar and the updated Stingray RS, I was immediately enamored with this slightly offset, double-cut shape, despite typically being a fan of single-cut body styles. Ernie Ball Music Man make some of my favorite production guitars around right now, so even though no music shop near me carried a Stingray for me to try, I had a pretty good feeling this would be something I’d enjoy. After this limited-edition “The Governor” version arrived and I opened the box for the first time, my hunch was confirmed: This is an incredible electric guitar.

In the above video, I discuss my Stingray RS as well as provide some sound examples of the guitar both in and out of the mix. Hopefully those of you who are interested in getting a Stingray for yourself find the video helpful in making your decision.

Overall, the Stingray RS may not be the perfect guitar for everyone, but currently, it is pretty close to perfect for me. This, in my humble opinion is a great playing and great sounding electric guitar, and it’s one that I think I’ll have by my side for as long as I live.
